Privacy Policy

This explains what Settleroo does with personal information. There are two different groups of people involved, and they are treated differently.
If you use Settleroo for your business
We store:
- your email address, used to sign you in
- your business name and the kind of work you do
- the identifier of the Stripe account you connect
- the customers, jobs and payment requests you create
We do not store your bank details, your ID documents or your card numbers. Stripe collects those directly during verification and we never see them.
If someone has entered you as a customer
If a tradesperson or tutor has recorded you in Settleroo, they entered your name and phone number themselves, and possibly a description of the work they did for you. They decide what to record and how long to keep it. We store it for them.
If you want your details corrected or removed, the quickest route is to ask the person who sent you the payment link. You can also email sunnyday130826@gmail.com and we will help.
Who else sees it
- Stripe handles payments and verification. The amount, the description of the work and the payer's bank details go to Stripe. Stripe has its own privacy policy.
- Supabase hosts the database, in Sydney.
- Vercel hosts the website.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Messages you send
When you tap to follow up, Settleroo builds the message and opens WhatsApp or your phone's messaging app with it ready to send. The message is sent by you, from your own number or account, not by us. We do not have access to your WhatsApp or your text messages.
Keeping it safe
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting providers. Access is restricted so that each account can only ever read its own records. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected people promptly if something goes wrong.
How long we keep it
While your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards where we need to, for example to meet tax or financial record keeping obligations. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your data other than anything we are required to retain.
Your rights and complaints
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email sunnyday130826@gmail.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a privacy issue, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
